At NextFab Studio, we use a NextEngine desktop scanner that incorporates high resolution cameras with a laser line and automatic turntable for our 3D scanning. 3D scanning is the process of turning a real physical object into a purely digital file. 3D scanning is a lot like photo scanning you are familiar with, but 3D scanning also records shape and depth info to accurately represent a physical object digitally. These scans are integral to reproducing physical objects.
