NextFab Studio teamed up with Wednesday’s Child,a partnership of the Freddie Mac Foundation, NBC10 and the National Adoption Center, to create an innovative experience for one local youth. The program, which is hosted by former NFL star and NBC 10 reporter Vai Sikahema, is a weekly television feature about adoption that helps find permanent, loving, adoptive families for children in foster care. Our special guest, Benjamin, spent time with NextFab founder and president Evan Malone making his own circuit board. It was truly a great experience for the whole NextFab team to host Benjamin and the Wednesday’s Child program. See the video segment on the NextFab Studio Blog.
NextFab donated our technical expertise to the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator’s Fall Exhibit at City Hall. Our talented staff worked with Julia Blaukopf, a local artist, to design and print the images for this year’s exhibit. The Philadelphia Fashion Incubator is a non-profit collaboration between Macy’s and the City of Philadelphia which is devoted to the support and promotion of emerging fashion designers and the fashion community in Philadelphia. See photos of the show here.
Philly Give & Get: MAKER Edition
NextFab’s 3D printing and laser processes manager, Brandon Boulden, auctioned off his technical prowess and outgoing personality during Philly Give & Get: MAKER Edition in an effort to raise funds for Scribe Video Center. When the gavel dropped and the dust settled, the top bid resulted in over $500 raised! The winner's package included a personalized 3D printing class with Brandon at NextFab. All generous donations went to Scribe Video Center’s youth programs. This is an awesome opportunity for over a hundred young Philadelphians to acquire digital media skills.
